Teatro del Bicentenario is the new Performing Arts Center of the Forum Cultural Guanajuato in León, GTO. The main 1,595-seat theater has a very innovative design, with adjoining spaces surrounding the audience chamber that can be added to the room volume or closed off, to modify the acoustics as needed to suit either symphony orchestra concerts, opera and zarzuela, theater, ballet, musicals or popular music events. With our associate in México, Cristian Ezcurdia, Akustiks provided room design, full acoustic design and construction administration services for the project, which, in addition to the main room, includes a 500-seat studio theater and administrative offices. Cristian Ezcurdia designed and commissioned the sound and communications systems.
