Teatro Colón

Akustiks was selected to lead the renovation of Colombia’s most famous and historic 19^th Century opera house. The renovated 900-seat room will host opera and zarzuela, theater, ballet, symphony orchestra and popular music concerts.  Our work during the first phase of the renovation (audience chamber) included a full acoustic evaluation of the room and recommendations to improve the natural acoustics for opera and symphonic music.  We are also improving the building’s sound isolation, silencing the natural ventilation systems and designing a new shell and audio video system for the theater.
