A new 17,000 square foot facility developed within a pre-engineered Butler Building forming a new home for Northern Stage regional professional theatre company. The 240-seat thrust theatre was optimized for spoken word with acoustical elements to provide high degree of speech intelligibility. Akustiks provided a professional level Audio Video system design for the space. The theatre was constructed adjacent to Northern Stage’s existing facilities and includes a full rehearsal studio that is structurally isolated from the theatre. The project was completed in less than two years including design and construction with a successful opening in October 2015, on-time and under-budget.
