The Center for the Arts is housed in a former 19th Century prison, originally comprised of eight buildings surrounding a central guardhouse. It has been renovated to house individual schools of Music, Theater, Visual Arts and Dance, among others; students from all schools will share a new flexible 500-seat multi-purpose theater. Retractable seating will allow the space to be configured traditionally or as a black box space. Akustiks’ work has included room design, comprehensive acoustic and audio video systems design.
